Autumn N. Sabin is currently teaching Art Foundations, Fibers, and Art History at Lakewood High School, on Cleveland’s west side. She has taught visual arts for 18 years, and isn’t stopping anytime soon. Nothing brings her more excitement than helping her students make their ideas come to life.
For her residency at CIA, Autumn focused on ceramics, which is a foreign medium. With this new challenge she decided to focus on hand building methods along with incorporating text. Her work is playful and inviting, which is exactly how Autumn hoped it would turnout.
The residency sparked a new curiosity, and she rediscovered her love of woodworking, of which she hopes to grow her skills and toolbox in the near future.
