Jim Bibler teaches drawing at Rutherford B. Hayes High School in Delaware, Ohio.
I live in Delaware with my wife, family and two dogs.

I came to the residency with the goal of completing a large family portrait. Whether I am working with charcoal on paper or paint on canvas I enjoy the immediate response of the drawing/painting tools. I am interested in the physical aspect of mark making. I think that acrylic paint supports working this way. I can layer and draw on top of the paint as it dries quickly. In this piece I am primarily interested in shape, value, color, line and texture decisions over proportion, perspective, foreground and background.
